Saloni Biography
Saloni Aswani was born in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra, India. She belongs to a Sindhi family and her actual name is Vandana Aswani. Her mother Naina Aswani wanted her to become an actress and her father was a Customs Officer. She stayed with her family at the CGS quarters in Mumbai.
Saloni is a graduate in psychology from SNDT, Mumbai. Later, she joined Ashok Kumar's Acting School, Mumbai. She was also a part of a theater named Kala Sansad.
MOVIES
Saloni made her acting debut with the Hindi film Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa (2003). This Saawan Kumar film is about two lovers who belong to different races. She played the character of Ruksana Khan opposite newcomer Kapil Jhaveri. This movie turned out to be a big flop so the actress tried her luck in Tollywood, starting with Dhana 51. It was followed by movies like Chukkallo Chandrudu (2006), Kokila (2006), Boss, I Love You (2006), Maryada Ramanna (2009), and more.
Pooja Gandhi and Upendra were seen with her in Telugu movie Buddhimantudu (2009).
Her second Bollywood movie was Reguzar (2006) opposite actor Jimmy Shergill. Saawan: The Love Season (2006) was her third and last Hindi movie till date. This movie starred superstar Salman Khan and her debut movie co-star Kapil Jhaveri. Salman played the lead role of a messenger in this movie.
She has also acted in some of the Kannada movies like Budhivanta(2008), Dubai Babu (2008) and the recent one is Theertha (2009). Madurai Veeran (2007) is the only Tamil movie she has acted in.
