Padmini Kolhapure Padmini Kolhapure, the Bollywood star of the 80's was born on 1st November, 1965, in Maharashtra.
Padmini started off as a child actress in Zindagi (1976), and did a few more films until she was cast by Raj Kapoor in Satyam Shivam Sundaram: Love Sublime (1978), to play the younger version of the female lead Zeenat Aman. The film was a sensational hit, and Padmini was recognized by all.
In 1980 came Insaf Ka Tarazu, where she played Zeenat's younger sister. Her heartwarming performance as a rape victim is remembered even today.
In 1982 she bagged the role of Manorama, a young widow in the film Prem Rog. Once more she gave a stellar performance, and the portrayed the role of a hapless unfortunate girl with a lot of sensitivity.
She has several hits to her credit, including the love story Ahista Ahista (1981); Subhash Ghai's Vidhaata (1982); Souten (1983), where she played a simple middle class girl; Woh 7 Din (1983) where she played Maya, a girl married to a man she doesn't love; Pyar Jhukta Nahin (1985) with Mithun Chakraborty and more.
Her last film was Ei8ht Shani (2006).
