Ambika Biography

Ambika is an Indian film actress. She has acted in a number of South Indian films. She started her career with the Malayalam movie Mamangam in 1979. Within a couple of years she became a busy actress not only in Malayalam, but also in Tamil and Kannada as well. Her sister Radha is also an actress. She acted with Kamal Haasan in many movies and has appeared in glamorous roles in movies such as Kaakki Sattai, Vikram, and Kadhal Parisu. Most of her films have been with stars (such as Dr.Rajkumar, Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Ambarish, Vijayakanth). Bhagyaraj introduced Ambika in his movie "Andha 7 Natgal". Her friend Suhasini Maniratnam helped Ambika with a different hairstyle and outlook in 1987 which extended her film career as a heroine. Getting married, she settled in United States, but returned to India around 1999 and acted in Jodi. Ambika has been acting all tiny roles up to recent release "vel". She will act a heroine in Vikaraman’s forthcoming project "Mariyathai". Captain Vijayakanth would act as dual role.

Sakala Kala Vallavan (1982). She was paired with Kamal Hassan in this Tamil movie.

Sandhyakku Virinja Poovu (1983). Malayalam film starring Mohanlal and Mammootty.

Rajavinte Makan (1986). Malayalam.

Ezhuthapurangal (1987). This drama was in Malayalam.

Kudumba Puranam (1988). The Malayalam film was Directed by Sathyan Anthikad.

Arunachalam (1997). Tamil.

Nirom (1999). Her character's name was Baby in this Malayalam film.

Mazhai (2005). The Tamil film was Directed by Rajkumar.

Vel (2007). Tamil.

Mariyadhai (2009). Also Tamil.
